Realtor Kathryn Sweeney, who joined Sun Coast Real Estate in 2010, has had more than 14 years of residential real estate experience in the Santa Barbara market, and she also holds a real estate license in Hawaii. She received her broker's license for California in 2006.

Previously, Kathryn was associated with the office of Sothebys International Realty. Before her career in real estate, she was the owner for 10 years of a Santa Barbara-based aroma-therapy company. Previously, she worked in sales for the aerospace industry for more than a decade.

She is a lover of nature: in the summer months she often swims in the ocean & hikes every week on the gorgeous trails that the backcountry has here. An accomplished sailor, Kathryn truly appreciates the natural beauty and waterways of Santa Barbara. She has twice double-handed a wooden 42-foot sailboat roundtrip from Santa Barbara to the South Pacific, to the islands of Hawaii, the Marquesas, and Tahiti. She still sails and goes on island trips aboard the local whale watching boat to see the whales migrate through the Santa Barbara channel.

Active in community affairs, Kathryn combines a love of sailing with her fundraising expertise to benefit the Santa Barbara Yacht Club.

Originally from the east coast (Princeton, New Jersey), Kathy began horseback riding lessons at the age of 9 there and still rides today. She is an accomplished English rider.

She earned her bachelor's degree in English Literature from Westmont College in Santa Barbara.

Currently, she is a member of the Girls, Inc. organization in Santa Barbara, a charity designed to empower young women. She practices yoga regularly to connect the physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Why use Kathy for your real estate needs? Her clients often will use her for more than one transaction. She works each transaction with close attention to detail, not missing anything. She always puts the clients' needs first. A twenty seven-year resident of Santa Barbara, Kathryn matches her clients' needs to properties using both her professional expertise and personal knowledge of the area's diverse communities, including their schools and amenities.
